At Science Fest Africa (SFA) 2026, organized by the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Ivory Coast, Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools will represent our campus on the international stage by reaching the finals with a total of 2 projects.
The finalist projects for the Science Fest Africa (SFA) event, hosted by the Maarif Schools in Ivory Coast, affiliated with the Turkish Maarif Foundation, have been announced.
In this prestigious event, which will feature student teams from 25 different countries across the African continent, Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools have also qualified for the finals.
Mohamed Ibrahim, Saed Abdirahman, and Abdirahman Mohamed, students at Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools, were selected as finalists by the jury for their project, "Al-Powered Smart Glasses for the Deaf."
Science Fest Africa, which focuses on science, technology, and innovation, aims to improve students' problem-solving skills, encourage interdisciplinary thinking, and strengthen the scientific culture in Africa.
In the final stage, to be held in Ivory Coast, students will present their projects in the fields of sustainability, environment, technology, engineering, and innovative solutions to an international jury. The event will also provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and culture among young people from different countries.
Organized in line with the global vision of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, Science Fest Africa aims to increase young people's interest in science and strengthen international collaborations.
Our students who have reached the finals are preparing to represent Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools in the best possible way on the Science Fest Africa stage.
