Science Fest Africa (SFA) 2026, organized by the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast, brought together student teams from 27 different countries this year. With approximately 15,000 visitors, this major science and technology event garnered significant attention as one of the most important youth innovation organizations on the African continent.
At the festival, which is at the heart of science, technology, and innovation, students had the opportunity to present their projects in problem-solving, engineering design, and artificial intelligence-based solutions to an international jury. The event strengthened international cooperation by providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and culture among young people from different countries.

Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools successfully represented our school on the international stage by reaching the finals with 2 projects developed in different categories. The students won first place at Science Fest Africa 2026, standing out among 140 projects with their computer software and artificial intelligence projects.

The event was attended by our esteemed President of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, Mr. Mahmut M. ÖZDİL. Our delegation, which closely interacted with the students and examined their projects on-site throughout the program, expressed its appreciation for the young people's efforts in the fields of science and technology.
This remarkable achievement by the students of Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools is a source of great pride for both our school and our institution. The determination, hard work, and productivity of our students have once again been demonstrated on an international platform.

We thank all the students, teachers, and project teams who contributed, and we hope that this success will continue and grow in the coming periods.
