The second parent meeting of the 2025-2026 academic year at the Türkiye Maarif Vakfı Hargeisa-Somaliland Campus was held with high participation from parents.During the meeting, the academic progress of our students throughout the semester was evaluated in general terms; our class teachers held one-on-one meetings with parents, student performances were discussed in detail, and report cards were presented to the parents.During this process, parents were also informed about the MAGIS exam held at our school. It was stated that more than 1,000 students participated in our school's scholarship and discount exam, and that the exam process was successfully completed.Processes specifically aimed at our 12th-grade students were among the key topics of the meeting. It was emphasized that our students had completed the TR-YÖS exam and that their preparation for international university entrance exams was continuing intensively. Parents were also informed about the support courses and guidance programs conducted within our school.In addition, comprehensive information was shared regarding the application processes for Turkish Scholarships (YTB), international education opportunities, and the academic and career advantages offered to students by the Turkish Maarif Foundation.The meeting covered academic activities as well as social, cultural, and scientific studies conducted at our school. Parents were informed about national and international competitions in which our students participated, ongoing projects, and events planned for the upcoming period.In line with the upcoming graduation process, parents were informed about the planned events and end-of-year activities for our 12th-grade students, and it was emphasized that the process is being carried out meticulously.At the end of the meeting, parents had the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with teachers and receive detailed information about their children's academic and social development processes.We thank all the parents who participated and hope that our school-family cooperation will continue to grow for the success of our students. 🌱📚

Science Fest Africa (SFA) 2026, organized by the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast, brought together student teams from 27 different countries this year. With approximately 15,000 visitors, this major science and technology event garnered significant attention as one of the most important youth innovation organizations on the African continent.At the festival, which is at the heart of science, technology, and innovation, students had the opportunity to present their projects in problem-solving, engineering design, and artificial intelligence-based solutions to an international jury. The event strengthened international cooperation by providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and culture among young people from different countries.Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools successfully represented our school on the international stage by reaching the finals with 2 projects developed in different categories. The students won first place at Science Fest Africa 2026, standing out among 140 projects with their computer software and artificial intelligence projects.The event was attended by our esteemed President of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, Mr. Mahmut M. ÖZDİL. Our delegation, which closely interacted with the students and examined their projects on-site throughout the program, expressed its appreciation for the young people's efforts in the fields of science and technology.This remarkable achievement by the students of Hargeisa-Somaliland Maarif Schools is a source of great pride for both our school and our institution. The Turkish Maarif Foundation organized an information meeting for the parents of our 12th-grade students at our Hargeisa Campus regarding YTB (Turkish Scholarships) and TR-YÖS (Turkish International Student Admission Exam).Scholarship opportunities, the examination process, and university application stages were discussed in detail at the meeting.During the speeches at the opening of the program, information was provided about the guidance programs conducted to ensure that our students can make the most of their opportunities in higher education abroad.The school emphasized that it supports its students not only in their academic achievements but also in their university preparation processes.During the meeting, our Deputy Principal, Hamze ÖMER ALİ, shared his educational experiences in Turkey with the parents. Speaking about his experiences as a student in Turkey, Mr. ÖMER ALİ provided information about the university environment, academic discipline, and student life. He also touched upon the academic and cultural opportunities that studying in Turkey offers students, stating that this process significantly contributes to their development.Following this, our Psychological Counselor, Amal OSMAN, gave a presentation providing information about scholarship support and efforts towards university success. In her speech, she touched upon increasing students' academic motivation, providing proper guidance, and the importance of setting planned university goals. She also emphasized that thanks to the school's guidance services, students receive one-on-one support throughout the scholarship and university application processes.In the final part of the meeting, our Student Affairs Officer, Sacad ABDİRAHMAN, shared technical information regarding the YTB scholarship application process and the TR-YÖS exam. He provided detailed explanations about the application steps, required documents, and exam schedule. He also informed about the scope of the scholarship, stating that it covers airfare, university placement support, health insurance, and educational opportunities. He also explained the points students should pay attention to during the application process, offering guidance to ensure a smooth process.At the end of the meeting, parents' questions were answered, and one-on-one consultations were held regarding the university preparation process. At the Türkiye Maarif Foundation Hargeisa Campus, the month of Ramadan was welcomed with great enthusiasm and a spiritual atmosphere, thanks to the meaningful decorations and activities prepared by our students.Our school has taken on a completely different identity with activities reflecting the spirit of unity, sharing, and brotherhood of the month of Ramadan. Thanks to the dedicated efforts and creativity of our students, our corridors, classrooms, and common areas have been decorated with ornaments reflecting the warm and peaceful atmosphere of Ramadan.Each prepared panel, written message, and visual artwork reminded us of the fundamental values ​​of Ramadan, such as patience, cooperation, and solidarity, while also demonstrating that our students have internalized the meaning and importance of this blessed month. The handcrafted decorations, in particular, added not only aesthetic beauty to our school environment but also a spiritual depth.The corners featuring verses from the Quran and hadiths, the visuals on the theme of sharing, and the Ramadan messages prepared by our students have created a strong atmosphere of unity on our campus.
